Registrazione: 21-22 maggio 2019 presso la Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. <strong>1 CD\u00a0 GIA Publications<br \/>\n<\/strong>La speranza in una vita e in un mondo migliori, magari immuni da ogni forma di problemi, costituisce il tema dell&#8217;album <strong><em>On My Way<\/em><\/strong>, di cui protagonista \u00e8 la <strong>Missouri State University Chorale<\/strong> diretta da <strong>Cameron F. LaBarr<\/strong>, affiancato da <strong>Erin E. Plisco<\/strong>. Questa speranza sostiene i brani del ricco e vario programma che va dalle <em><strong>Prayers of Kierkegaard<\/strong> <\/em>del compositore norvegese <strong>Knut Nystedt<\/strong> (1915\u20132014), allievo, per\u00f2, negli Stati Uniti di Copland, a <strong><em>Saints Bound for Heaven <\/em><\/strong>della nonagenaria <strong>Alice Parker<\/strong> (1925) attraverso la suggestiva <strong><em>Steal Away<\/em><\/strong>, nella quale la morte non \u00e8 vista come qualcosa di negativo, ma come il momento in cui l&#8217;anima si pu\u00f2 ricongiungere al suo Creatore, o ancora attraverso <strong><em>Look Up, Look Down<\/em><\/strong> nella quale la perdita della persona amata offre uno spunto di meditazione sul contrasto tra come il mondo \u00e8 e come dovrebbe essere. Non manca nemmeno la tradizione dello spiritual, presente in <strong><em>Gone Home<\/em><\/strong>, in <strong><em>Travelin\u2019 Shoes<\/em><\/strong> e in <strong><em>I\u2019m Building Me a Home<\/em><\/strong>, mentre il messaggio dell&#8217;album \u00e8 racchiuso nell&#8217;ultimo brano, <strong><em>I\u2019ll Be on My Way, <\/em><\/strong>una meditazione, piena di speranza, sulla morte, vista non come conclusione della vita, ma come un passaggio verso una condizione felice.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0ms2YOPHmDI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>Ottima l&#8217;esecuzione dei brani da parte della <strong>Missouri State University Chorale,<\/strong> che mostra di destreggiarsi bene nei vari stili, ed efficaci gli interveti dei solisti: il soprano <strong>Kara Libby<\/strong> che interpreta con partecipazione e intensit\u00e0 emotiva <em>Steal Away<\/em> e con senso dello stile lo spiritual <em>I\u2019m Building Me a Home<\/em>, dove \u00e8 affiancata dal soprano <strong>Faith Morgan<\/strong>, auttrice quest&#8217;ultima anche dell&#8217;arrangiamento di <em>Travelin\u2019 Shoes<\/em>; i soprani <strong>Claire Herzog<\/strong> e <strong>Hannah Martin<\/strong>, ottime interpreti delle <em><strong>Prayers of Kierkegaard<\/strong><\/em>, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">e i baritoni <strong>Chris Thompson<\/strong> (<em>I\u2019ll Be on My Way<\/em> e <em>Were You There<\/em>) e <strong>Troy Robertson<\/strong> (<em>Gone Home<\/em>), le cui <em>performance<\/em> si segnalano per un&#8217;accurata ricerca dei colori.
