Guiseppe Verdi donn\u00e9 en fin de saison 2017, toujours dans la mise en sc\u00e8ne de\u00a0<b>Charles Roubaud<\/b>. C&#8217;\u00e9tait l&#8217;assurance d&#8217;une belle soir\u00e9e. Cet op\u00e9ra, \u00e9crit apr\u00e8s bien d&#8217;autres succ\u00e8s, est certainement l&#8217;un des plus beaux du compositeur. Des airs, des duos, des quatuors, des ensembles accompagn\u00e9s par une orchestration fournie qui donne des phrases et des reliefs sonores de toute beaut\u00e9. Il faut se souvenir que Don Carlos a d&#8217;abord \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crit en fran\u00e7ais pour Paris ; un grand op\u00e9ra en 5 actes et un ballet comme cela se faisait traditionnellement en France, avec l&#8217;acte de Fontainebleau pour d\u00e9buter, qui avait demand\u00e9 un nombre consid\u00e9rable de r\u00e9p\u00e9titions. Pour sa cr\u00e9ation \u00e0 Milan en 1884, Don Carlo est donc chant\u00e9 dans une transcription italienne, l&#8217;acte de Fontainebleau \u00e9tant supprim\u00e9. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">La mise en sc\u00e8ne du Don Carlo pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 Marseille en 2017 reste sensiblement la m\u00eame. Comme dans chacune de ses productions, <strong>Charles Roubaud<\/strong> respecte le livret, les atmosph\u00e8res, la musique et les chanteurs. Le rideau s&#8217;ouvre sur un d\u00e9cor noir avec en fond de sc\u00e8ne une grande croix dor\u00e9e, ouvrag\u00e9e, superbement \u00e9clair\u00e9e devant laquelle un moine, tout de blanc v\u00eatu, prie pour l&#8217;\u00e2me de Charles Quint. Minimaliste pour un tombeau mais d&#8217;une rare beaut\u00e9. Les jardins sont anim\u00e9s par des arbres enferm\u00e9s dans des gages. Le plus spectaculaire sera sans doute l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur de la Cath\u00e9drale de Valladolid o\u00f9\u00a0<i>Carlo<\/i>\u00a0viendra implorer la cl\u00e9mence du\u00a0<i>roi<\/i>\u00a0pour les\u00a0<i>d\u00e9put\u00e9s flamands<\/i>. Point de pardon pour les h\u00e9r\u00e9tiques. Les drapeaux, les oriflammes flottent au vent et, dans le creux d&#8217;une immense croix, l&#8217;on peut voir les supplici\u00e9s dans des teintes de grisaille puis les immenses flammes qui rougeoient. Dor\u00e9es dans les jardins d&#8217;Espagne, blanc cru sur les\u00a0<i>moines<\/i>\u00a0et le\u00a0<i>Grand Inquisiteur,\u00a0<\/i>sombres en clair-obscur, ou rasantes et indirectes dans la prison. Elles cr\u00e9ent un ensemble coh\u00e9rent et font ressortir ces atmosph\u00e8res lourdes, sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 l&#8217;Espagne sous l&#8217;Inquisition. On n&#8217;y \u00e9chappe pas. Les vid\u00e9os de\u00a0<b>Virgile Koering\u00a0<\/b>viennent animer les sc\u00e8nes avec r\u00e9alisme ; les feuilles des arbres bougent dans un clair de lune, les flammes rougeoient pour l&#8217;autodaf\u00e9 et les statues tombent, d\u00e9construites, \u00e0 la fin. Tout est dit. El\u00e9gants comme toujours, les costumes de\u00a0<b>Katia Duflot<\/b>. El\u00e9gants mais aussi somptueux, respectant l&#8217;\u00e9poque, et qui constituent un d\u00e9cor \u00e0 eux-seuls. Aust\u00e9rit\u00e9 espagnole avec les robes noires des dames de la cour, une croix argent\u00e9e pour tout ornement. Plus somptueuses les robes de la\u00a0<i>Reine<\/i>, gris p\u00e2le, blanche et lumineuse ou noire, alors que la tristesse emplit son c\u0153ur. Immense plaisir visuel ces costumes qui correspondent aux personnages. Habit blanc jusqu&#8217;aux cuissardes, couronne en majest\u00e9 pour le\u00a0<i>roi, Rodrigue\u00a0<\/i>et\u00a0<i>Carlo<\/i>\u00a0tout en noir pour un contraste avec le blanc immacul\u00e9 du\u00a0<i>Grand Inquisiteur<\/i>\u00a0ou le rouge des\u00a0<i>d\u00e9put\u00e9s flamands.<\/i>\u00a0Superbe ! Superbe aussi le plateau homog\u00e8ne avec des chanteurs qui jouent avec beaucoup de r\u00e9alisme.\u00a0<b>Chiara Isotton<\/b>\u00a0est une\u00a0<i>Elisabetta\u00a0<\/i>tr\u00e8s belle, aur\u00e9ol\u00e9e de lumi\u00e8re, une lumi\u00e8re que l&#8217;on retrouve dans sa voix.
