Ha compiuto gli studi musicali al Conservatorio della sua citt\u00e0 natale e, dal 1956, al Conservatorio di Parigi. Iniziata la carriera da oboista, sia come solista sia in orchestre, nel 1967 ha fondato con un gruppo di amici <em>La Gran Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy<\/em> e ha intanto approfondito da autodidatta gli studi musicologici e di direzione d&#8217;orchestra. A capo di questo complesso orchestrale, con strumenti d&#8217;epoca, ha dato vita a importanti esecuzioni di opere, oratori e musica strumentale del repertorio barocco, ma non solo,\u00a0 da Monteverdi (<em>Orfeo, Vespro della Beata Vergine.<\/em>..) a Handel (<em>Agrippina, Serse, Rinaldo, Messiah, Tamerlano<\/em>&#8230;), Vivaldi (<em>Catone in Utica, Motezuma<\/em>&#8230;) e Mozart (<em>le nozze di Figaro, Cos\u00ec fan tutte, Don Giovanni.<\/em>..).
