Direttamente legata alla produzione operistica soggetta ad arrangiamenti e a riduzioni per canto e pianoforte anche a quattro mani, la produzione vocale da camera costituisce un completamento di quella e soprattutto risponde a una domanda sempre crescente da parte della borghesia dell\u2019epoca che la utilizzava come mezzo di intrattenimento. La musica di Massenet, del resto, pur trovando un suo sfogo naturale negli ampi palcoscenici dei teatri, si prestava bene anche al pi\u00f9 ristretto ambito sia per le tematiche, dall\u2019amore alla donna, dalle stagioni ai bozzetti pastorali, dal romanticismo al simbolismo, sia per gli autori, tra i quali grandi poeti e scrittori, come Silvestre, Verlaine, De Musset, Gautier, Rostand, Hugo, Maupassant e Anatole France per non citare che i pi\u00f9 famosi.<br \/>\nAlla conoscenza di questo enorme repertorio hanno contribuito con tre eccellenti album il soprano <strong>Sally Silver<\/strong> e\u00a0 il grande direttore d&#8217;orchestra <strong>Richard Bonynge <\/strong>al pianoforte. Prodotto da <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Jeremy Silver,<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">marito del soprano, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">il Cd <strong><em>La vie d&#8217;une rose<\/em><\/strong>, il cui titolo non solo ricalca quello di una lirica di Massenet, ma anche allude in modo emblematico alla triste vicenda umana della Silver, prematuramente scomparsa all&#8217;et\u00e0 di 51 anni a causa di un cancro, \u00e8 quasi un vero e proprio testamento musicale dell&#8217;artista, essendo questa la sua ultima incisione prima della morte. In questo Cd <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">la Silver, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"> in sei brani, duetta con <strong>Christine Tocci<\/strong> con la quale mostra un&#8217;intesa perfetta in <em>L&#8217;heure solitaire o Aux \u00e9toiles<\/em>, dove le due voci, nei passi in scrittura omoritmica, si integrano in modo totale quasi a dare l&#8217;impressione di ascoltare una sola persona. Negli altri brani la <strong>Silver<\/strong>, dotata di una voce particolarmente omogenea con un bel settore centrale, si mostra raffinata interprete per l&#8217;attenzione al testo, alle dinamiche e per una grande variet\u00e0 di colori. Dotato di una voce abbastanza omogenea e dal timbro chiaro con\u00a0 acuti squillanti e buoni centri, Darmanin esibisce un&#8217;intonazione e un fraseggio curati sia nei duetti con la Silver <em>(Dialogue nocturne e Horace et Lydie<\/em>, dove si nota una perfetta intesa tra i due artisti nell&#8217;incantevole finale<em>)<\/em> sia in quello con la Tocci (<em>Le temps et l\u2019amour<\/em>) sia nel terzetto (<em>O ruisseau<\/em>, nel quale, tra l&#8217;altro, Bonynge trova un tocco leggerissimo per lo scorrevole disegno che rende benissimo lo scorrere delle acque del ruscello) insieme con la Tocci e la Silver che, cantando omoritmicamente, danno, come era accaduto del Cd precedentemente recensito, l&#8217;impressione di essere un&#8217;unica persona. Protagonista dei brani, <em>Je t&#8217;aime <\/em>e <em>Les yeux clos<\/em>, la <strong>Swallow<\/strong> d\u00e0 letteralmente voce al suo violoncello grazie a una cavata che trova accenti malinconici e di intenso lirismo. In quest&#8217;ultimo, interamente cantato dalla <strong>Silver<\/strong>, oltre alle doti vocali gi\u00e0 evidenziate negli altri due, si nota nella voce una freschezza giovanile che giova anche a livello interpretativo.
